Tascam is a media device that is used to record any form of sound for the creation of audio media products. Tascam can record audio up to 125db and with such loud audio, it is still able to keep it's quality and will not degrade immediately. Peak reduction is what helps with preventing loss of quality through lowering the highest point of the sound and making it even with the rest of the audio. This way, it does not lose the highs and lows of the audio.
If it records audio that is higher than the optimal level, it has an automatic function that automatically sets the audio to a suitable level and keeps the quality. This microphone can also change the speed of the audio without losing the current pitch that it has, which means it can technically edit the audio file within just the microphone itself.
Another feature that is has is that it can produce overdubbed audio. Audio can be recorded then after the recording, the file can then be recorded over and will not lose the original audio file. This can help in recording music when the music may drown the vocals during a full recording. The overdubbing will also make sure the vocals are well embedded in to the original audio file without damaging the quality of the original file.
The microphone has the ability to be moved to certain positions to be able to capture audio more towards a location. This allows people to use this microphone as both a recording device and a boom microphone. It can also be used to record background noise or ambiance. The microphones functions as a unidirectional which means it captures audio from a target location or within a single area. The quality of the audio is most likely from the arrangement and the use of multiple component to prevent loss of quality and heavy capturing of background noise and resonance.
Another feature of the Tascam is apart from its manual record mode in where the record button is pressed and the same thing over when stopping the recording, there is also the auto record mode, which is known as the MARK Mode. The literal mark can be set at which level the microphone should automatically record the audio and it will record the audio automatically when the volume set is hit or another factor affecting the auto feature settings. However, a downside of this is the over-dubbing feature will not work with the auto record feature.
The main storage for the Tascam microphone is a microSD card and the microphone records at a high quality mp3 file extension and the battery can last up to 17.5 hours.
